Teddy baby:
You did good by Kurt. http://www.kingoftheoldies.com/tribute.html
Wish I had met him. Maybe I did. He may have been hanging around Clancy's back in the day or maybe, what was it called, The 49th Street Mining Company.
Keep up the good work and, remember, tomorrow is another opportunity to excel.

Great Blog & Thanks for the Link

Robert:

Thanks mightily for the link -- I'll definitely enlist your help when I do Alabama on our new show THE UNITED STATES OF ROCK. Also, I'd like to get in touch with any of the Florida-related musicians you mentioned (B. Buie, R. Justo). Found Rodney's number through switchboard.com, but hadn't called him yet b/c my phone recorder died a horrible death and all the new ones are digital with no line out. Progress, indeed. Found an old-school, microcassette-usin' model on Ebay so's I can get back to business. Once I can quit my day job, I'll road-trippin' all over the South (and elsewhere) collecting interviews and IDs for the show(s).

Love the photos and stories. Great stuff! Can't wait to get some of those wild tales on audio (especially that story about getting Little Bobby Peterson laid -- great stuff!!!)

This page on their website has some great stuff about Tommy Talton's first group, We The People. They were HUGE in Florida in the mid-sixties.
Hey Mac Daddy, this Deep South oldies rock 'n roll scene is growing so hang on and get ready to tell a few more rock 'n roll war stories about the games rockers play.
